Dr Michalis Yiallourides

Training

Dr Michalis completed a Bachelor of Medicine and a Bachelor of Surgery in 2001 at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. He completed his basic training in Paediatrics in Manchester region and Advanced Specialist Registrar training in Nottingham. He completed his training in 2013, he obtained a Certificate of Completion of Training in General Paediatrics. He is registered with the Cyprus Association since 2010 (reg number 4648). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Australia.

 

Experience

Dr Michalis began his Consultant career working in General and Community Paediatrics in many hospitals and practices in the United Kingdom and in Australia. In 2015, he started working in North Queensland as a Consultant at the Mackay Base Hospital, and for the last six years at Townsville University Hospital. Dr Michalis co-founded North Queensland Attention Different Hyperactivity and Autism Spectrum (NQADHAS), an orgnanisation providing services to regional and rural areas in North Queensland to support children and young people with developmental and learning difficulties. Dr Michalis is a member of the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia and the Australian ADHD Professionals Association. Dr Michalis is a senior lecturer at James Cook University and University of Nicosia. He remains involved in research and medical education. His research interests include Autism and use of natural products in management of aggressive behaviours

 

Services 

Dr Michalis can provide Personal Doctor Services under GESY with routine growth and developmental reviews for newborns, toddlers, children and adolescents. He also provides primary and secondary care for common childhood illnesses including inpatient care. Dr Michalis has a special interest and expertise in Developmental Paediatrics. He can undertake private assessments for developmental conditions throughout childhood including assessments for Autism Spectrum and ADHD. Dr Michalis is committed to providing excellent care and support to his patients. He always goes above and beyond to ensure that he is improving the lives of both the children he works with and their families.
